Faculty and Guest Speakers

Dr. Robert Keith Wallace, PhD

Dr. Robert Keith Wallace, PhD

Dr. Robert Keith Wallace received his PhD from University of California Los Angeles and did postdoctoral research at Harvard. He was the founding President of Maharishi International University and is a member of the Board of Trustees of MIU as well as Chairman of the Department of Physiology and Health. He has written and co-authored many books, including 16 Super Biohacks for Longevity, The Neurophysiology of Enlightenment, Dharma Parenting, The Rest and Repair Diet and more. Professor Wallace completed pioneering research on the Transcendental Meditation technique and a fourth major state of consciousness which was published in Science, American Journal of Physiology, and Scientific American, and has traveled around the world giving many lectures at major universities and institutes.

Dr. Malte Hozzel

Dr. Malte Hozzel, PhD

Dr. Malte Hozzel was born in Germany and received his PhD from Heidelberg University in comparative literature and linguistics. His interest in self-knowledge via meditation led him to study and research essential oils. In 1990 Dr. Hozzel founded the Ayus Essential Oils International company in Germany with the Oshadhi Aromatherapy line and then founded the Aromatherapy Seminar Center, Orto de Prouvenco, in High Provence, France in 1992. Malte has published numerous articles, blog posts and books on the transformation of modern society and on Holistic Aromatherapy. Over the last 30 years he has organized and participated in international Aromatherapy conferences in numerous countries around the globe.

Dr Charlotte Bech

Dr. Charlotte Bech, MD

Dr. Charlotte Bech graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Copenhagen. She has worked in gastrointestinal surgery, hematology, and internal medicine/obstetrics. Dr. Bech has taught at a medical school in Copenhagen and is currently running a private clinic there, supplementing modern medicine with Maharishi AyurVeda. She has given more than 30,000 Ayurvedic consultations. Charlotte writes as a columnist in several national magazines and is the author of several books on topics of Ayurveda. She is Vice-President for the European Ayurveda Medical Association (EURAMA) and has been awarded the Panacea international excellence award from Vanaushadhi Vidyapeetha, International Conference on Ayurveda and Holistic Healing, from the Government of Maharastra, India. She is a NAHA Certified Professional Aromatherapist®. Dr. Bech is Adjunct Assistant Professor of Physiology & Health.

Feli Hoo

Feli Hoo

Feli Hoo is working in Malaysia giving Ayurveda and Aromatherapy consultations, Sukshma Marma Therapy, and Transcendental Meditation courses. Mrs. Feli is a professional therapist who obtained qualifications as an Ayurveda Practitioner and Aromatherapy Consultant, Suksma Marma Point Therapist and a certified Transcendental Meditation Instructor.

Andrew Stenberg

Andrew Stenberg

Andrew Stenberg has more than 20 years’ experience performing 11,000 Ayurveda consultations. He also has teaching experience as a senior lecturer at Maharishi Vedic College in Melbourne, Australia. In his private and corporate practice, Andrew often uses essential aroma oils therapeutically, along with the many different approaches found within Maharishi AyurVeda. He also has many years of experience teaching self-pulse reading, and his courses are known for their depth and informal approach. Andrew will train students in Maharishi AyurVeda Pulse Diagnosis.

Jody Elleaume

Jody Elleaume

Jody Elleaume is immersed in the world of essential oils. Trained by several big names in aromatherapy, he also graduated in herbalism. He is the exclusive importer of Oshadhi in France and creator of “Myrtéa formations” – an official training institute for Aromatherapy and Naturopathy. His goal is to spread the seeds of plant knowledge and awareness and to direct Myrtéa in a human and collaborative way.

Beverley Higham

Beverley Higham

Beverley Higham is an Aromatherapist and teacher from the UK with a vast experience of 30 years in training of Aromatherapy, Beauty therapy and Spa Management. She has a BA in Professional and Vocational Education, is a director of HABIA and member of IFPA. She was co-founder and creative director of a range of natural organic face, body and spa products. During this time the products she created won numerous awards. In the early 1990s she worked with NHS Doctors to introduce aromatherapy alongside conventional medicine In her local community. This led to her pub­lishing some of her research on women‘s health in the International Journal of Clinical Aromatherapy. She is recently retired from being a Lecturer and course Manager at Wigan and Leigh College in Manchester where she ran a Foundation degree in Spa Manage­ment. During her time there, she was awarded a medal of excellence from the city and guilds.

Diane Malaison

Diane Malaison

Diane Malaison is Director of the MS in Aromatherapy & Ayurveda and Senior Graduate Instructor of Physiology & Health. She is a graduate of the Institut d’Aromathérapie Scientifique in Québec, Canada and has learned from Dr. Daniel Pénoël (Osmobiose, France), Dominique Baudoux (Pranarom, Belgium), Lucie Mainguy (Aliksir, Canada), and Maurice Nicole (Hunzaroma, Canada). She has taught Maharishi AyurVeda and aromatherapy in the United States, Canada, India, and the Netherlands and will teach aromatherapy courses and provide clinical training. Diane earned her B.Sc. Biochemistry and M.Sc. Microbiology-Immunology at Laval University, Québec, Canada, and is currently working on her PhD. She is a NAHA Certified Professional Aromatherapist®.

Eli Ramos Pinto

Eli Ramos Pinto

Eli Ramos Pinto is a Clinical Aromatherapist from Campinas, Brazil, in addition to studying Tibetan Medicine and Tibetan Tsalung Trulkhor Healing Method Practitio­ner – received from Professor Dr. Pasang Arya, from whom she also received knowledge of the Body and Mind Cleansing and Rejuvenation Process of Tradi­tional Tibetan Medicine. She also combines her passion for the essential oils with her languages skills (is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish). She has been interpreting and trans­lating the work of many Aromatherapy, Naturopathic Medicine and Herbalism teachers and professionals from all over the world. She has had the opportunity of volunteering in local hospices in North Carolina, US, where she created a clinical aromatherapy course for palliative care profes­sionals and trained the nurses in the hospice in the use of Aromatherapy for end of life patients. She has been working with Carla Vescovi at Padre Gabriel Mejia‘s Hogares Claret Foundation in Colombia, an institution that offers therapeutic support for those who were affected by marginality, violence, or the use of psychoactive substances. Her intention is to continuously manifest on this Earth from her luminious Self and help spread the knowledge of plants to people all over the world so hu­mankind can benefit from this relationship with plants.

Eva Bouzas-Ros

Eva Bouzas-Ros

Eva Bouzas-Ros, CEO of Renascens et Vita, Oshadhi in Spain and one of the members of the national aromatherapy commission in Spain. She studied Integrative Ayurveda at the University of Madrid and has been trained by Dr. Hozzel in holistic aromat­herapy and by Dr. Schrott in Ayurveda Suksma Marma technique. She teaches aromatherapy in different places, one of them being the University San Jorge in Zaragoza and also in schools, clinics, and national associations. Eva also collabo­rates in public hospitals in the area of neurology, UIC of burns and traumatology.

Vaidya Prathmesh Vyas
After graduating in Ayurvedic Medicine and further studies of Kayachikitsa (internal medicine) at the University of Nagpur, Vaidya Vyas received his diploma in Ayurvedic Health Education at the Rajasthan Ayurvedic University in Jodpur. Vaidya Vyas is 5th generation of traditional Vaidya family of Kingdom of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan and practiced for 10 years as an Ayurvedic physician in India. In 2007 he joined Maharishi Vedic University in Holland where he led Ayurvedic training courses throughout Europe and India. And in 2014 he joined the Maharishi Ayurveda Clinic in Bad Ems, Germany. Vaidya Vyas has lectured widely on Maharishi AyurVeda and aromatherapy and frequently gave interviews and lectures on the Maharishi Channel.

Mahmooda Hotak

Mahmooda Hotak, Adjunct Instructor of Physiology and Health/Associate Director
Mahmooda is a graduate of Master’s in Maharishi AyurVeda and Integrative Medicine and Master’s in Aromatherapy and Maharishi AyurVeda at MIU. She holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology from University of Phoenix Online; and a Holistic Health Coach/Life Coach certificate from Health Coach Institute. She has been working as a Teaching Assistant for the Master’s in Maharishi Aromatherapy and Ayurveda Program since the inception of the program. She is now teaching the Maharishi AyurVeda courses in the program. She is currently a student in PhD in Physiology and Health, and practices as a Holistic Health and Lifestyle coach at her online coaching business. She coaches women with hormonal imbalances on balancing their hormones naturally and effectively using combined therapeutic principles of Vedic Psychology, Maharishi AyurVeda, and Aromatherapy.
