PC Won't Start
When your PC won't start, try these steps:
- Try to start the computer again. Sometimes, you just don't hit the button hard enough.
- Check if the on/hard drive light is on. If it is, the computer is on and the problem is somewhere else. (See the item about the monitor.) If not, continue reading.
- Check the power connection on the back of the computer and make sure it's plugged into the computer securely. Then check that it's plugged into the surge protector/power strip securely.
- Check that the surge protector/power strip is on. Then check that it is plugged into the wall securely.
- Check if other devices connected to the surge protector/power strip work can be turned on, such as the printer. You can even plug a lamp or some other electrical appliance in to see if it works. If nothing else works, the problem is probably in the surge protector/power strip. If everything else works, the problem is probably the computer.
- Make sure the monitor is on. Make sure the monitor's settings are correct. (It could be set so dark that you can't see anything.)
