| Fast
pace of student hiring continues
More than 70 companies
have hired our students in the past six months. This includes
Microsoft which alone has recently hired four of our students.
This job placement is part of the practical training for the
M.S. degree.
Our Microsoft recruiter
says their managers want expertise in .NET and testing skills,
specifically in C# API-level test automation with XML-based
web services using SOAP and MS SQL Server 2k as backend.
Department Chair Dr.
Keith Levi suggests that if students want to interview with
Microsoft, they should review their software engineering course
with particular attention to testing concepts, use cases,
white and black box testing, and boundary testing.
Dr. Ralph Bunker, Assistant Professor
of Computer Science, is presenting a special lecture series
for students with these interests. His lectures are entitled
“Programming in the .NET Environment”,
"How is C# Different
from JAVA", and "ASP.NET."
